Arrive at Noon
Ritual begins at 1:00 pm
East Rise Grove, South Park
Please join Sassafras Grove on Sunday, May 8 for our Beltane ritual. The rite will be held outdoors at East Rise Grove in South Park. All Pagan and Pagan-friendly people are invited to attend. To help protect our community, we request that folks attending be fully vaccinated and respect each other’s personal space. Mask at your discretion.
Our ritual this year will honor the Nature Spirits and celebrate our interconnectedness to the beings with whom we share our world.
12pm – 12:30 pm: Flower crowns and socializing
12:30 Ritual briefing
1:00 pm Rite begins
What to Bring:
* Offerings for the Nature Spirits
* Flowers for making May crowns
* A chair/blanket if you wish to sit during the ritual
Flowers may be scarce (and expensive) because it’s Mother’s Day. We’ll bring wire, tape and ribbon for flower crowns. If you’d like to make a crown, you may want to bring some of your own flowers since we’re not sure what we’ll be able to provide. We’ll have some time before the ritual briefing to make those if you’d like.
We won’t be having a potluck at this event. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch for yourself and your family. We’ll provide some snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is permitted on site, no glass bottles per park rules. While alcohol is permitted at this event, glass bottles and containers are not allowed at this site. If you choose to drink alcohol, please do so legally and responsibly.
Pets are welcome at this rite, but they must be kept leashed at all times per park regulations.
Our rites and events are free and open to the community, but we do rely on the monetary donations of those who are able to defray the cost of space rental and ritual supplies.
East Rise Grove is located off of East Park Dr. Entering the north side of the park from Broughton Rd, veer to the left to take East Park Dr instead of Hundred Acre Dr. The road leading to East Rise Grove will be 0.2 miles down East Park Dr. For those using a GPS device, the coordinates of 40.332654, -80.008125 will lead you to the parking lot.
