The Druids of Sassafras Grove, ADF invite you to join us for our Winter Solstice Rite and Potluck.

At Samhain, we entered the Wasteland of the Year, lit candles in defiance of the shadows that threatened to drive us apart.  We remembered those among the Dead who are too often forgotten and offered them the shelter and comfort of our fire and table. As the Winter Solstice approaches we will call upon Deities and Beings of Light and Sky from different cultures and traditions as we welcome the return of the Sun that leads us from the darkness into the light of a new year.

The festivities will be held indoors at Parish Hill in North Park.

All Pagan and Pagan-friendly people are invited to attend! Children are welcome!

What to Bring:

* Offerings to the Sun and Beings associated with the Sun and Winter Season.

* A chair/blanket if you need to sit during the ritual
* A dish to share at the potluck following the rite.

Alcohol is permitted at this event. If you chose to drink, please drink responsibly.

We will be collecting children’s item to support the Foster Love Project.

Items most needed at this time include:

Diapers. All sizes. (Their biggest need)

Baby wipes. Sensitive and/or unscented.

Baby food. All types. Seriously hardly anyone donates this.

Footed PJs. All sizes. Clothes should be new or very, very gently used and washed.

Parish Hill is located on Walter Rd in North Park, Allison Park, PA, 15101.

There is no cost to attend our rites and events, but we do rely on donations to help us cover the cost of space rental and supplies. If you can, please support your local Druids!

Plant a Tree! Over the next year, Sassafras Grove will be collecting cash donations to be used to plant trees through the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of the Earth Mother. For just $2.00 we can plant a tree in a National Forest! So if you have an extra dollar or two, please consider donating. We’ll keep you updated quarterly on the planting progress!
