Ostara (Spring Equinox) Rite

Doors Open at 12:00 pm; Egg Hunt Begins at 1:00 pm; Ritual at 2:00 pm

Join the Druids of Sassafras Grove for our annual Spring Equinox ritual and egg hunt on Saturday, March 21, 2015!

Ostara is a time of the Earth’s awakening at the beginning of Spring. At this time of year, we honor the Germanic goddess Ostara, associated with the Dawn.

 

Schedule of Events:

12:00 pm: Doors open

1:00 pm: Egg Hunt begins

2:00 pm: Ritual begins

 

What to Bring:

* An offering for Ostara.  Common offerings include chocolates, candy, flowers, eggs

* A chair/blanket if you wish to sit during the ritual

* A dish to share at the potluck

* A donation of pet food for Animal Friends’ “Chow Wagon” pet pantry (see below)

 

While alcohol is permitted at this event, glass bottles and containers are not allowed at this site. Please plan accordingly.  Sassafras Grove expects all guests who choose to drink alcohol to do so legally and responsibly.

 

Our rites and events are free and open to the community, but we do rely on the monetary donations of those who are able to defray the cost of space rental and ritual supplies. Support your local Druids!

Chow Wagon

Sassafras Grove supports Animal Friends’ Chow Wagon Program. If you can, please consider bringing a package of cat or dog food (canned or dry), cat litter, food/water bowls, treats, or toys for donation to the Program. Donations must be new and unopened. From McKnight going north
•Slight right onto Babcock Blvd
•Turn left onto Kummer Rd
Keep straight on Kummer Road
Destination will be on the left
North Park Ranch House
10198 Kummer Road, Allison Park, PA 15101

In reverse:
From Ranchhouse:
Drive down Ranchhouse driveway to end
Turn right onto Kummer Road
Keep straight on Kummer Road until it ends at Babcock Blvd
Turn Right onto Babcock Blvd
Continue on Babcock until you reach McKnight Road
Turn Left onto McKnight Road (this points you south)
