Join Sassafras Grove in celebrating the Autumnal Equinox with a celebration inspired by the Polish harvest festival of Dozynki. Our rite honors Marzyana, the Polish Goddess of harvest and grain, and we will be offering her a traditional Wieniec (“harvest wreath”) in thanks for all we have harvested this year. Attendees are encouraged to bring fruits from their gardens or other symbols of their personal harvests to help adorn the Wieniec.
Our celebration will culminate with dancing, feasting, and song.
Schedule of Events:
2:00 pm Doors open
3:00 pm: Ritual begins
Potluck feast following the ritual
What to Bring:
* A personal offering to Marzyana (if you choose)
* Symbols of personal harvest for the harvest wreath
* A chair/blanket if you wish to sit during the ritual
* A dish to share at the potluck picnic (Harvest foods and Polish/Slavic foods are especially appropriate)
* A donation of pet food for Animal Friends’ “Chow Wagon” pet pantry (see below)
Alcohol is not permitted at this event
We will draw the winner of our Earth Mother Wall hanging raffle at this event. Last chance to purchase a raffle ticket!!
Our rites and events are free and open to the community, but we do rely on the monetary donations of those who are able to defray the cost of space rental and ritual supplies. Support your local Druids!

Celebrating 24Years of Service to the Gods and the Folk
Sassafras Grove supports Animal Friends’ Chow Wagon Program. If you can, please consider bringing a package of cat or dog food (canned or dry), cat litter, food/water bowls, treats, or toys for donation to the Program. Donations must be new and unopened.
