Io Saturnalia!

 

Celebrate the end of the year’s Wasteland as we honor Saturn, Roman Lord of Wealth and Fertility. We will call upon Sol Invictus, the Invincible Sun to travel with us through the turning wheel and lend his light to guide us through the darkness of Winter.

 

In keeping with ancient tradition, we encourage you dress in your holiday finery and leave your cares behind as we join in this festival of goodwill!

 

We are asking folks to bring a cookie, piece of candy, piece of fruit, or other favorite holiday treat to add to our final community offering to Saturn.

 

What to bring:

 

– Personal Praise Offerings to Saturn and/or Sun.  Suggestions include fruit, red or yellow flowers, grain, or other symbols of the season’s wealth.

 

– A snack to share in fellowship following the rite

 

– Items for our annual donation to a local organization that supports placement of foster children into safe homes. Items needed included:

 

Kids clothes, ages 4-16.  Coats, jackets, and jeans are especially appreciated, but anything is wonderful.Backpacks and duffle bags,

Toiletry sets (i.e., travel sized stuff including toothbrush, paste, shampoo, deodorant).

Pajamas

Books

 

New or GENTLY used (and clean, of course) clothes are acceptable.

Please note that our hosts do not allow alcohol at this site, even as offerings.

Our rites and events are free and open to the community, but we do rely on the monetary donations of those who are able to defray the cost of space rental and ritual supplies. Support your local Druids! Tickets will also be available for our raffle, so bring some extra cash if you’d like a chance to win this gorgeous, handmade item.
